A trailer and a release date for Japan Sinks 2020, the new series by Masaaki Yuasa (Devilman Crybaby)

Last March we discovered the first images for Japan Sinks 2020, the next series of Masaaki Yuasa planned for Netflix. And that’s it, there is finally a trailer! As a reminder, this series is inspired by a science fiction novel by Sakyo Komatsu released in 1973, by the name of Japan Sinks. We follow the story of a Japanese family trying to survive in the midst of a terrible chain of natural disasters.

It is said every time, Masaaki Yuasa definitely multiplies various projects. We knew the director for the fantastic series Devilman Crybaby also released on Netflix, or more recently for the exciting and fun Keep your hands off Eisouken … and now he’s back with a disaster series! Japan Sinks 2020 is produced by Science SARU studio, of which he recently left the presidency.

And as good news never arrives alone, this trailer also reveals a release date! It will take until July 9 to discover Japan Sinks 2020 on Netflix.
