One Piece live-action series for Netflix confirmed by Eiichiro Oda
Last March, a mysterious page appeared on Netflix, announcing a One Piece series in live-action. We only knew that the budget per episode would be huge, and that everything would probably be piloted by Tomorrow Studios. And the news was confirmed yesterday by Eiichiro Oda in person!
One Piece will therefore be entitled to a live-action adaptation, with a first season comprising ten episodes. On twitter, the creator of the license apologized for announcing the start of production in 2017, explaining that these things were taking time.
Nothing is known for the moment of the casting nor of the release date. The author will be co-producer of the series, which is rather encouraging. Because after watching the Netflix movie Death Note in live action, we have reason to worry … Steven Maeda whom we know for The X-Files will be showrunner of the series.
